107. The Favor

I did a favor for a friend
And requested not a dime or dollar
He just shrugged and looked at me
And said if I needed anything just to holler
I said don’t worry, there is no charge
It was my privilege to do the task
Nothing is for free, he commented back
Because if you need anything, I’ll now you’ll ask
I told him I acted on just his behalf
And I had no intentions of keeping score
He laughed and entered my name on a list
Right next to those he owed some type of chore
Forget it I said and raced to my car
To leave before an argument would surely brew
But when my car failed to start I asked for his help
I guess what he said was true!
