116. Steel Romance

I never thought that I could love hard steel
Until I heard the hum of her engine
She beckoned me to give her my attention
Although her affection I could never win
When I first gazed upon her wondrous shape
I was made breathless with idle wonder
No woman I knew ever had such curves
Nor could they compete with such rolling thunder
I stroked her lines and enjoyed her beauty
Her style was a craftsman’s perfection
She was outfitted with custom wheels
And special tires made especially for added traction
I sat inside her sacred confines
The leather embracing my very skin
With four on the floor and gadgets aplenty
She was undoubtedly made to always win
My heart collapsed in a saddened heap
When the salesman told me what her cost would be
Although compared to women, this car was cheap
Our romance was never meant to be
