| 140. My Way You awakened the shackled giant within my soul And allowed it to experience life as God had intended Full of strength but caged within my own heart It was you who unlocked the essence of my existence Before you entered my life I was but an actor Playing for the crowds, a life that was pretended I gave great speeches and portrayed a sense of being Things were just too easy and I met with no resistance Before you gazed into my eyes I was but an ember That drifted from the fire that had once been my passion But now alert and filled with awe and wonder My vision is much clearer as I venture into each day Had I never known the joy of your very being I would have never known the truth of satisfaction Today I live for you and everything you are I thank God each night for sending you my way |
