156. Decisions

It’s been over four years now
Since I lost my life to grief

I chose to follow my heart
Much to my family’s disbelief

They say I left them in a lurch
No longer would they be so rich

But when the judge did decide
I was the one without a stitch

I’ve paid my restitution on time
I make payments every other week

They’ve taken all I’ve owned
But of complaining I do not speak

For at the end of every day
When I turn off my bed light

All I need is to look at you
And realize the decision I made was right
