| 161. A Special Toast As the holiday season does approach There are things that we like to do or say For the season makes us giddy with joy Wishing all who come to pass a good day But with or without this annual season There are those who always make us smile For all the days and weeks that follow We need to be reminded to pause for a while Most of us could go ages or even lives Without finding someone special like you Someone who brings a brightness to our day Despite the tribulations that we’ve been through So it is with great fortune and luck That you are sitting just right across the hall For when I need take a break from my duties I simply need to open my door and call While our discussions seem light and good natured They set the beat for fun and things that are good Bringing sanity back to a world full of problems Enabling me to put things in perspective as I should It is now during this special season as I stop and reflect Especially for all those I’ve had the pleasure of meeting That I thank you for your good mornings and conversation And for listening to stories I’m sure I just keep repeating I wish you and yours much luck and happiness As this season fills us all with joy and cheer May you always achieve success and good fortune The spirit of the holidays extending from year to year During these holidays I’ll raise my glass As I toast to all those I loved and knew I’ll drink to peace and good will toward man And give thanks that I had the chance to meet you |
