172. The Enchanted Lake

I sailed across the enchanted lake
The wind caressing my bare back
My sails billowed like majestic clouds
Gliding me easily from tack to tack

A sailor of not many skills
The boat appeared from almost nowhere
I could have sworn I was just sick
But now I felt free and without a care

What had happened I did not know
From reclining to sitting I did go
The sickness that had taken my life
I was cured but I didn’t remember so

The skies were filled with a rich dark blue
The light was brighter than I could say
My heart was caressed and smothered in love
Never had I known such a day

From the skies such a sight did I see
Of beauty beyond my comprehension
An angel appeared before my eyes
Enchantment replacing apprehension

Not a word was spoken as we took flight
The boat sailing far into the sky
It was now that I knew where I was
And no longer would I wonder why
