| 18. For My Love In the not too distant past, the angels sang a song of joy For upon the earth did arrive a female child who rivaled their own A babe with a laugh that echoed the hope of the ages And a smile that could melt the coldest of hearts and glares Dark covered curls spilt across honey-dewed skin Framing the features of innocence more beautiful then any precious stone From such youth did grow a young woman of such charisma A woman who loved children, raccoons, and brown-colored mares Youth sprang to maturity and then to adult A creature of such purity and hope, a sign for the masses A heart so large that God watched over it wishing That even he could recreate the magic that had produced such a wonder So filled with excitement and wonder and so innocent and pure Hardly having experienced life before it was shattered like used wedding glasses Stolen hope and wishes and a life that could have been over Only a woman given by angels could forgive such a heartless blunder With grace and smiles and a heart beaming with love She blossomed for everyone to see the that life was for living and not for regret Dispensing with happiness and forgoing her own Friends flocked to her to touch and to see and to hear We all know that miracles are limited and so very few For just the chance to touch an angel is more than most of us get But harbored inside my heart I am a man brimming with pride I thank the angels for giving me my love and keeping her near |
