| 192. Doing As I Please Today I finally took the time To stop and smell the roses I couldn’t recall when I last had fun Or took parental pride in wiping children’s noses Chaos and stress have so overwhelmed me That I failed to take time for idle chatter I’ve missed so much acquiring money and wealth Trying to impress those that do not really matter So today I pledge to stop in my tracks And to allow my feet to feel the soil For I now realize that success cannot be enjoyed If to ourselves we are never truly loyal I vowed right now to look into the sky And to appreciate the feeling of the breeze So here I’ll sit and spend the rest of today Just taking of myself and doing as I please |
