236. I Do Confess

I do confess that you have tickled my fancy
Something that hasn’t been done in so long
Though my thoughts are things I shouldn’t think
If I could but sing I’d sing you a song

Our introduction was a thing of great mystery
Two people brought together by mere chance
Had not my best friend forced me to come along
I would never have guessed what awaited me was romance

Though you are much older I see nothing but new
Your wrinkles are transparent to my eyes
I see nothing but the beautiful person you are
You are the sun that shines from the skies

I know you feel the same as I do
I knew it from the moment we first touched hands
When your eyes saw me they sparkled like diamonds
Just see me again and I’ll make no more demands

So here I sit and pine away the night
Having lost my mind and heart to you
Please take the time to pick up the phone
I know you’ll find happiness too!
