251. Spring Break

The fall wasn’t as bad as it looked
Although I broke two arms and a leg
Had I hit the lounge chair instead
No doubt today I’d be wearing a peg

The stunt was great or so I thought
A perfect swan dive from the hotel tower
Encouraged by booze and the cheers of my buddies
I was filled with invincibility and awesome power

It was only when I jumped in the air
That I realized that wings were badly needed
Considering how fast I quickly fell down
It would be a stunt not soon repeated

But it was spring break in Mexico
And the testosterone was rushing in our veins
Had I truly thought about what I had done
No doubt I would have gladly forgone the pains

Alas the ground was really quite hard
It stopped my momentum with a smack
Luckily I landed on some soft beach sand
For the cement would have surely broke my back

Still the attention I did receive
Especially from that tall gorgeous blond coed
Does provide me with some consolation
My remaining vacation spent in a hospital bed
