255. Voice Mail

I tried to call you several times
But never did I reach you
Instead I talked to your recorded voice
But it wasn’t who I wanted to speak to
I left you a message every time
That beeping nearly drove me crazy
Never could I finish my message
For your machine did its best to beat me
So alas I now just give up
Though I had something to tell you
I guess you just didn’t want to hear
Of the great news that I had for you
Because if you had just taken one call
Of riches you would now be spending
Instead you can listen to my frantic calls
For your return call will always be pending
