Peace A dove flew up into the sky A beauty to behold and see An olive leaf dangled in its beak Bringing peace for you and me How could something so simple be true That a bird could end a war Is it any more ridiculous it seems To permit man to kill as before Why do we strive to have what we want When the price is paid with dying Even if heaven is our final home Is it worth the suffering and crying Take heed those that want more For God’s vengeance is at our gates He’s blessed us with our lives of our own For retribution comes to He who waits |
