| 3. Why? Paradise lost then found then lost again Having everything and gambling on the future Forgoing the apparent happiness of artificial love All for the scent of a woman and her allure The recriminations, heartache, and sense of remorse Paint a scene splattered with undaunted feelings Reasoning tainted by urgings again discovered Cast aside thoughts of legitimate things Separating reality from fantasy is a tortured dilemma Logic without foundation, decisions without grounds Advice given neither taken nor welcomed Trumpets through the air but leaves no sounds A man humbled by his actions yet undeterred Brandishes a sword mightier than the guidance of ages For any fool knows that a love unrequited Is worse than a cancer that kills in stages |
