| 306. A Soldier Emotions subdued beneath the black The funeral procession marched by A young soldier had given his life Dying but never really knowing why A thousand more will join him soon Their fate has been written by laws They’ll march or die to their own deaths Never knowing if they fight for the right cause A soldier’s life is to do as ordered Regardless if they believe in the act For they are to charge without a thought Even knowing death is a stated fact They fight for all and for our country Their reward is that special feeling they get Please remember that they are all heroes That they give their lives let’s not us forget While our politicians may come and go Their decisions causing our own soldiers to die Know that we can vote them all out Before more loved ones will be forced to cry |
