307. The Door

You walked out the door
Never saying a thing
I thought I was special
Was I just a fling?
Sure you’re so pretty
And have money to burn
But are you so shallow
Or was it just my turn?
You said we were forever
Soul mates from the start
Maybe you meant clever
Just actors playing a part
I loved you once
This I do confess
You once said the same
Today I couldn’t care less
So walk you fool
No riches in your soul
Money can’t buy happiness
No matter where you go
