| 32. Voices I heard a songbird or so I thought A voice more golden than money A sound that soothed my soul, warmed my heart And sweetened my lips like honey I yearned to listen more intently I was beguiled by all it seemed to say I searched the horizon for but a clue But nary a bird flew by this day Then I glanced into a mirror A glimpse of an angel did I see Parted lips spread across such beauty I knew the notes were from thee Then I realized the face I knew Belonged to she who held my spirit To be graced with such a gift from God For eternity I will always cherish it |
