328. Thin

The sunshine beat upon my head
My perspiration flowed in a river
I was running to get fit
And to detox my kidney’s and liver
The path was both up and down
My legs were pained and hurt
I took trails both near and far
Over hot pavement, grass, and dirt
Though not new to this running sport
My joints were made to swim
But since the diets didn’t work
I decided this was my way to get slim
Although I knew I had gone far
The distance had grown so fast
Now I had to figure a way home
For the return trip I wouldn’t last
But I gave it my all for this task
For surely I had to now win
So I did manage to get back home
Nearly killing myself to get thin
