356. A Slip

A slip of the tongue
And down I fell
A victim to my thinking
I said some words
Not quite nice
I blame it on my drinking
I should have known
Words can hurt
Especially when you trip
I hadn’t intended
To be the one
To nurse my own fat lip
But I grin
My devilish smile
For it doesn’t matter
To say such things
About his girl
No human is much fatter
