| 370. A Date It was a date or so I thought One that I cancelled just yesterday It had been arranged by a friend And who it was I had no say I had heard that the girl was large Overweight would be kind words for her I know I shouldn’t be so disrespectful But for her it wouldn’t be a slur I had some thoughts on what to do Confused by doing the gentlemanly thing It was only coffee or a drink Alas I said no and didn’t think Needless to say believing rumors is bad For I discovered the intended was quite a beauty I lost my chance to meet Miss Right Because I failed my sacred duty No doubt I’ll never do the same I’ll take the time to now be good For I now know that you never know Even when you think you should |
