381. Longing

Poetic words from the fool’s folly
Comedy misplaced by romantic pain
Tears fall not from laughter
Reminders to a lovers refrain
Hopeless attempts to regain composure
A moment lost to hurtful prose
Salvation not made through thoughtless actions
Yet a smile awakened by a single rose
Turbulent times bereft of emotion
The clock ticks away the age of reason
Souls pass alone in the night
Leftover victims to a lover’s treason
Forgiveness requested in pleading words
No victory ever made in love or war
The need to be held and loved as a person
Should leave no one longing for more
