41. Deep Sleep

I awakened from a deep sleep
The fear of death left hanging among my thoughts
Forgotten memories assembled in front of a funeral pyre
The Viking ship had no wind

I awakened from a deep sleep
The fear of life cradled by a mother in sorrow
Dreams yet to be left unhatched and unborn
The nursery would be empty

I awakened from a deep sleep
The fear of being me left orphaned in my mind
Thoughts of a future without your touch
An empty soul filled with sorrow

I awakened from a deep sleep
The fear of happiness did not find a home
Your smile brought forth new meaning
My heart was filled with love
