| 437. In Tribute It is with great grief that I do now write A brave citizen has now passed away He represented the spirit of a nation And kept freedom bright to this very day Though actor, governor, and loving spouse He epitomized the great cowboy in us all From meager beginnings he became a hero Showing us we can recover from a failing fall He was our president and truly loved His wit and humor were a favored trait He helped us survive years of adversity Insuring communism fell to a fatal fate The world will grieve with his passing For men of his caliber are quite a rare thing History will remember a giant once lived Because of him freedom does still ring |
