| 444. Since I Came I walk in silence as a mortal man Observing all life has to offer me I came to see if salvation was possible But that is clearly left to be Since I came last nothing has changed Although man has progressed in making things Greed and killing are still prevalent You still care not for what peace brings I hold my tongue and say not a word Long ago realizing fake prophets are all around I pray to my father each and every night To spare man from the thinking they’re bound I’ve been robbed and humbled by others Again I live and walk among the poor I tried once to recruit some followers But man has grown more callous than my time before You give great credence to religious leaders Although they speak not for me or above I’m filled with sorrow that you worship images And seek salvation by kissing a hand in a glove I hear the prayers spilling from your lips Seeking my arrival and return But I am here and you recognize me not Overlooking the very thing you most yearn This time around it’s you who will die For all men must pass away Look into your hearts and see I am here It is up to you to decide how you’ll live each day |
