Where are the great poets when needed most
Society has become to forget shame
Chivalry is missing as is our honor
We point our fingers never accepting the blame
Eloquence of speech is a lost trait
Words are butchered with gross disregard
Communication is transmitted with misguided fingers
The ability to speak with words is too hard
Gone are the days when poetry ruled
Educated persons were schooled in etiquette
Young men and women vied to speak words
Expressing meanings that others would never forget
Alas today’s age is all about haste
From instant messaging to abbreviated text
No longer will young minds know compassion
Is it our ability to love we’ll lose next?
