466. The Park

Amid the towering buildings
Rested a simple green park
Though small it had grass and trees
A place for children and dogs that bark
Though somewhat lost among the structures
It was home to birds and small creatures
Providing sanctuary to both young and old
A resting place for sometime teachers
Within its realms a new world did grow
A reminder that peace can exist amidst stress
Though street sounds could still be heard
It was a haven to relax and rest
Though man does continue to advance
At least they’ve remembered to keep some green
For this park represents the best of us
The part kept hidden and never seen
