| 473. Peace I learned today a boy had passed away Not quite older than thirteen years Afflicted with a fatal disease he lived Although without any dying fears He’d known for years his time was short Yet he gave more than those older He prayed he’d live to see peace one day Before his body turned gray and colder He gave his words upon written pages Wisdom provided for all to read and see His poetry sang to our minds and hearts But peace came not to humanity So when he died he said farewell For to a peaceful place he did surely go With his dying breath he prayed for us Hoping we’d find peace before we did too follow |
