| 48. The Phone Call My belt came alive in a blur of vibration My cell phone signaling a call I glanced at the number calling me And recognized the caller was you I quickly opened my mobile phone And headed for the hall I answered breathless in a trance Our romance was still quite new We laughed and giggled saying nothing As lovers often do We talked for hours in mindless chatter And used up all our time Entertainment provided at such a valued price Better than movies, plays, and operas too When completed we scratch our heads Anxiously awaiting the next cell phone chime |
