When I Awoke Little did I know That life was so alive When I awoke That winter day at five Santa had come There were presents everywhere The house was happy No worries did I care Though hampered by fate My life is just right A rich man I’m not But I sleep peacefully at night Where are the devils Who destroy children’s dreams They must have been robbed Of their happiness it seems I pray they’ll learn That life matters not The passage to heaven Cannot be bought |
