513. What Will You Do?

What will you do now that I’m gone
No blame will I now again receive
You’ve tortured my soul and my heart
And shattered all that I once did believe
I was your lover who admired you so
None of your failings ever phased me
I gave you all that I ever was
Yet there was a part of you I didn’t see
How could you deceive me so
Using my adoration as your ally
While your lips spoke of our being
Your actions made our love one big lie
Though older than you I was quite fooled
I was taken in by your wit and charm
Even when I suspected tom foolery
I never believed you’d cause such harm
Despite it all I did recover
For the light of day clears the brain
Although wounded I’ll save my heart
For my love again you’ll never gain
