514. I Couldn’t Stop

I couldn’t stop although I tried
My mouth just kept on talking
Tainted words took on new meaning
Never meant to be heard by others walking
The little white lies began to grow
Even I was dazzled by my own daring
From an ordinary man I became a hero
A manufactured heart I was soon baring
She was amazed as I knew she’d be
Her eyes grew misty as I sucked her in
My victim became enchanted by me
So confident was I her heart I’d win
I created a person that even I loved
A man unlike any other being
The more I spoke the more I was
My greatness was just so appealing
Yet I had spoken much too loud
For others mistook me for another
They struck so quickly I was surprised
My last words begging for my mother
And so it is that I am now dead
My fake life never to gain me pleasure
Just remember if you ever create yourself
Never ever speak of riches or treasure
