525. Somehow

Somehow if life wasn’t quite the same
After the do’s became I don’t
I really don’t know what I expected
When graciousness succumbed to I won’t
From starry eyes to mostly crying days
How did happiness change so quickly to sorrow
When did those pains of suffering
Turn to barely surviving yesterdays and tomorrow
But truth be told I’d not change the past
For despite all the things that turned out so bad
You helped me experience love as it is intended
And to understand caring through what we once had
So as you fade away into my memories
Know that I’ll forever keep you close inside
Though our lips will never touch again in joy
I’ll always relish the days you were once my bride
