552. Our Life

Has it been a year since we said I vows
Twelve months passing as quickly as a day
That memory fills me with happiness
Our lives changed by those words we did say
For better or worse is what was spoken
To honor and cherish pledged until we die
Other words were spoken and filled with meaning
Even now remembering makes me smile and cry
Words weren’t created to describe your beauty
No song created to express how I now feel
I still worry that if I blink you’ll disappear
An abundance of love too good to be real
I am honored to have you as my wife
A greater friend I could never replace
You fill my life with all that is important
No greater treasure could come from His grace
So on this day as I kiss your lips
Remember the hour we became as one
May you think of me fondly as your husband
Our life together has only just begun
