554. No Stop

No train stop will come this day
Hope gives way to what’s in store
The passage of time just races by
The chance for redemption exists no more
A tattered soul beaten by life
Too many battles have left deep scars
Wounds never to heal with salvation
No answers to be found among the stars
Remaining breaths steal life from words
Final thoughts wasted upon forgotten fears
The need to love and to feel the same
A faded memory washed by falling tears
The chance to be all that really matters
A pillar to those young and full of life
Misplaced actions made for wrong reasons
Happiness cast aside by anger and strife
The dying mind thinks only of hope
The desire to turn back the shriveled past
A life wasted upon misbegotten pleasures
Forgotten forever with one’s last dying breath
