| 555. Stop The War Stop the war was what they cried Their cities were ablaze in sorrow The smell of death filled the air No hope of victory for tomorrow The once proud and fearless troops were gone Fallen fools to wishes of hapless glory Ranks were replaced with those eager to shave Mere seconds needed to read their lifetime story The euphoria of victory lasted not for long Though the enemy retreated at their sight Territory consumed was soon vomited back No match were they to retribution’s might Soon it was that defeat pounded at the door No salvation given to those who did protest Reality takes new meaning when everything’s lost The rationale for killing forgotten with one’s dying breath |
