Your Footsteps We are amazed at how bright the candle Illumination that enlightens with such glee Our problems and concerns all pale in comparison If from your eyes we could this day see Courage and strength exist not always in battle For like you there are those who fight from inside Though we fail to say the thoughts we are thinking You’ve enabled us to face things we’d sooner hide If God had crafted stone from your spirit No doubt diamonds would pale in such radiance The passage of time changes how we see things Good things sometimes overlooked at first glance While we’ll never fathom what you’ve endured Each passing moment a testament to your soul Know that you give us hope for our own future If someday in your footsteps we too must go |
