584. The Indiscretion

No darkness preferred by those of the light
Shadows hidden within the mind’s eye
Sunlit fancies gaining a glimmer of hope
No longer possible beneath a moonlit sky
Tarnished pride gives way to self doubt
Courage begets the opportunity to remain
A future filled with things that won’t matter
Success often greeted with painful disdain
Corruption passes when sunshine abounds
No truths remain when the blackness arrives
The will to prevent disclosure comes early
Honesty fades when only enjoyment survives
Thoughts held tightly for their sacred meaning
Interpretation ordained by those no longer here
Misdirection given and paths sometimes foolish
Youth listens not to the aged wise ones they fear
The long journey home is clouded by judgment
Sign posts never designed to give direction
Two lonesome hearts brought together in passion
Nothing remains hidden from the soul’s indiscretion
