589. Such Are The Ways

I felt the cold of self loneliness
Its icy fingers clutching at my soul
The warmth I felt when you here
Evaporated as soon as you did go
Though I dream of you as I sleep
I lay awake and no rest do I find
My thoughts are filled with passion’s heat
Its flames have engulfed my tortured mind
No longer do I see things so clear and true
Reasoning has taken refuge in my thighs
I yearn to touch and be close to you
My future hidden behind your eyes
The pain of missing is tough to endure
When feelings are awakened with such flare
Forgotten touches replaced by those tender
A life reborn from one who does now care
Memories abound with such importance
Stolen seconds take on such meaning
What has been is eclipsed by the future
Exposing a side of happiness rarely seen
So I’ll count the days until we next meet
My life passing as though I’m not here
I’ll patiently wait until our lips will next touch
Once again able to hold you near
