| 599. Giggles and Smiles Laughter arose amid the chilled air Snowballs never saved for a future day Parents sat beneath blankets so warm No sound better than children at play Giggles and smiles bring tears to the eyes Times once forgotten remembered with glee The holiday spirit brings hope for the future Surprises abound beneath the Christmas tree Yuletide greetings spread life and wonder Problems forgotten if only for a short pause A choir of voices herald the spirit of the season Even unbelievers take heed of the name Santa Claus Mangers and candles and stars once so bright Take on new meaning at this time of the year Nothing else matters during the holiday season Peace on earth somehow now possible here |
