609. My Forevers

No loss or grief do I have today
No more war do I now worry
The fear of death affects not my thoughts
I now bow away from heaven’s fury
My life cut short by men much older
Wisdom forgotten with the tip of a pen
Thousands like me once ordered to fight
No concern ever over our ability to win
Kindred spirits were we when we came
Loyalty unmatched by those on earth
Onward and forward was our battle cry
Mortality precludes all reason for birth
The marching of feet once so reassuring
Marks the cadence to my resting place
No more sunsets will I be seeing
My forevers spent in His loving grace
