612. No Reason Why

The sun cast no light upon my head
I seek no brightness on this day
Clouds hang upon my shoulder in sorrow
My soul if colored would be stony gray
No smile do I wear upon my face
Lips parched by a torrent of tears
A broken heart desires no enjoyment
The hope of recovery the thing it fears
No warning did I heed things were ending
The tell tale signs fell upon an unwilling mind
Love had turned cold without any effort
Discovering the starkness of reality is never kind
Why is it that we yearn for another
Yet know that its spark will surely die
Prays and wishes can provide no answers
A failed relationship ends with no reason why
