614. Misplaced Desires

Awaken ye men from your foolish slumber
Deception hides not from whom you care
Stolen moments steal from your own future
Lives will continue although you’re not there
Sweet kisses consumed from forbidden fruit
Enjoyment gained at an extreme cost
Thinking fogged by pleasures of the moment
Forgotten romance from a time now lost
The thrill of newness ravages the soul
Feelings chained by situations fly free
Those betrothed disavow sacred pledges
Trust and honesty no longer a reality
Words take on new meaning when hidden in doubt
Shame covered neatly in sheets so clean
Laughter once reserved only for another
The fear of discovery afraid to be seen
Fingers entwined become shackles for family
Knowing spouses hoping for senses to return
Patience resolves to pretend their ignorance
Misplaced desires fueling souls to soon burn
