| 621. The Bitter End The arrow pierced deep into my soul Cupid seemed determined to cast his spell Though once hardened against the need for emotion For this moment in time into love I surely fell I tired to fight but I succumbed to my emotions No longer held captive my tears were free to flow I started to smile as I had never admitted On the wings of angels I floated as I did go No problems prevented me from my daily mission Happiness and joy were spread with unselfish glee Nothing mattered but to be near my loved one Life’s greatest pleasures made available for the likes of me So like some Scrooge I’ve learned great meanings Lust and love are never brethren of a friend When enchanted by the wiles of a woman Men will be yours forever until the bitter end |
