626. Furry Friends

Oh furry friends who share my living
No words ever spoken to my ears
A tilted head conveys such emotion
Your winsome eyes console my greatest fears
Explanations cannot be expressed about my feelings
When things are the worst you’re always there
Unlike my human friends you never give me counsel
Though I’ll never profess love it is you I truly care
Although my colleagues may raise their eyebrows
They know not the things you make me see
But like me they are also attached to your brethren
For in private they too seek the love we all need
So each night I give praise to your being
No greater warmth can a human being ever give
You provide the comfort that we all strive for
Without a friend like you how could anyone live
