633. Simple Truths

Simple truths can sometimes lay hidden
Reading between the lines is but a trait
Words lay broken with misguided wisdom
Tortured souls never healed at some future date
Reality begets the seeds of our own failures
No dreams remain for those wide awake
Time cares not for those without ambition
Wishes create unhappiness of chances we don’t take
Facades of living are painted on our faces
Yet we lay hidden to protect our own fragile soul
We yearn for love but fail to enjoy its existence
Misunderstandings taint the truths we’ll never know
To exist is a gift we’ll always need to struggle
For no one can see with our own eyes
Darkness looms for all with our passing
Love never possible if one never tries
