636. Temptation

Though no shape do I have I look like you
Each breath you take fills my lungs with life
I look behind your eyes and see clearly
The façade of your face hides not internal strife
No twins are we yet we share our Father
Maternal love possible only for those with a soul
I care not to be loved nor admired
Yet I protect you from things you’ll never know
Look in the mirror and at times you’ll see me
I’m the blackness that makes your stomach shrink
Neither good nor evil I confuse your senses
I create the desires of which you shouldn’t think
No shoulder do I rest or ears do I speak
My voice needs no words for you to hear
Seek solace in those that really care for you
True love never survives when temptation is near
