641. The Light

I stood before the precipice of my life
My soul surrounded by things cold and gray
No warmth did I feel encompassed in a fog
The will to remain so difficult with each passing day
Although my eyes were open I could not see
Life was hidden in the passage of things unimportant
My dreams were once filled with the need to aspire
Never did I once ponder on what living truly meant
Yet through it all I felt the comfort of your strength
No sight more beautiful then your smiling face
When I succumbed to dismay and felt so alone
Your gentle voice reminded me of your loving grace
It is only now that I know what the light is we seek
For life seems to blind us all in so many different ways
Only now do I see that love is the light we search for
Fortunate am I to have you with me as we share our days
