One day you’ll read these written words
Created to celebrate your special birth
You are the fulfillment of your parent’s wishes
Dreams all seem possible while on this earth
Just a few short months ago no future did you have
Our thoughts were filled with a couple’s pleasure
Little did we know about the miracle of birth
Or truly understand the meaning of God’s treasure
As these words glide across your young sight
Hopefully your life is already filled with great joy
Like we waited for you to come join our family
No doubt you now look forward to new days to enjoy
So as you come to the end of this poem
Know that today marks the first of more to follow
For as you grow and find your place in life
May you always feel your parents love every tomorrow
