673. Terry

No bugles will sound as the sun does set
Nor will flags fly on half-mounted poles
Only God knows what she has given
A life eclipsed by events for who a bell now tolls
Compassion bereft for years now gone
No care ever given until publicity did come
A soul encased in a shell of flesh and bone
The prospect of death has more meaning to some
Smiles long since lost on a face without thought
Eyes transfixed by a light no longer there
The end of days given notice by the news
If stories hadn’t been for sale no one would care
God lives not in courts of man made marble
No human laws can ordain when we will die
Fate or destiny delay not for entertainment
The end does surely come despite how much we cry
So take heed those with eyes so red with grief
Terry Shaivo lives in a place we’ll all soon go
If you’re truly serious seek others who need your help
Merely talking about caring doesn’t make it so
