Youth Youth is so intoxicating Stimulation gained by sight Memories lost by fascination The search for skin so tight Liquor can’t begin to compare Satisfaction gained by impure thought Possession is merely fleeting Reversal of time can’t be bought Elixirs give pause for a moment The quickening of life hidden by cream Facades of rejuvenation swallowed freely Realities of success merely a dream We all once had what we now want Yet so eager before to see it pass away Maturity reminds us what we now treasure A lesson remembered until our dying day |
