82. Advice

Who can really counsel us
On what we do or say

Sages who don’t live our lives
Or know how we spend our day

The Enron guys gave great advice
On how to make and spend

Graduate schools sang their praise
Until they realized it was just pretend

Presidents have gone to church
To advocate virtue and no sex

The Moral Majority voiced their support
Quieted when scandalized by an “ex”

Making money is all we’re taught
From almost the day we’re born

Although the Good Book is quoted lots
Its pages seem never worn

Alas this very day
I decided to seek advice

I ended up doing something I shouldn’t have
And was arrested by the Vice

So this I say to all who care
Take counsel with some trepidation

For no matter what is said to you
Remember it is not their reputation
